Hello! my name is claudia. well i have princess name Elennie<333 Well thats all i can say so lates. |
South Central today as hard and complicating to live in, if your parents are unemployed. I think south central is a good place but some people make it bad. There are a lot of good people here not all are bad. people choose to be bad and make south central a bad place. There are most communities who like to keep their area clean. The negative part is that there are a lot of stereotypes of south central. There are good places to go to. Only certain areas have places where they’ll treat you bad. The three most important events that has the greatest impact on making south central,LA what it is today are Crack Epidemic, Gang History, and LA Riots.
The crack epidemic is one of the biggest impact because the U.S brought crack to south central. This really affects south central because many families were broken up. This event is important because many people got addicted to crack. The U.S brought crack just to fight war. They didn’t care of hurting their own people. Many people grew up without one or both parents because someone in their family was addicted. The crime rate also increased. The ones who were addicted would do anything to supply their addiction.
Gang history in LA is another big problem. Gangs have been up for over 100 years. Black and Latino gangs in LA originally come as a response to white racism. The first people who started gangs were white people. this really affects the community because gangs can be a stereotype of LA. Gangs can be very violent and get out of control. After the watts riots white people left LA leaving Blacks and Latinos. This led to some gangs beginning to fight each other. Many gang members joined organizations. The Black Panthers and The Brown Berets were the organizations. These groups wanted to control business, employment, education, and media. The government was concerned and wanted to break them up. They started spying on them, placing undercover cops, and putting them in jail. So eventually they broke up.
The LA Riots was a big effect too. The LA Riots started on 1992. The beating of Rodney King really made the people mad. Also the murder of Latasha Harlins was a big impact in LA. The verdict for both of these crimes was unfair. The officers who beat Rodney King were found not guilty. Latasha’s murderer was set to be on probation and had to pay a fine of $500 dollars. This is what led the riots to begin. This riots led to no where, 53 people were killed most were the rioters or innocent victims. There was over 1 billion worth of damages. The riots lasted for 3-5 days.
In conclusion the Crack Epidemic, Gang History, and LA Riots was a big impact in LA. In the future i hope the events won’t affect us. There will be most likely to be blacks and Latinos. The gangs I’m really not sure about. I just hope LA stays as a good community. I hope there isn’t riots that are going to mess up the community.
